An annual celebration of Nelson Mandela’s life, Mandela Day serves as a global call to action, urging people to recognize their power to change the world around them.
RAA's 2009 exhibition promoted the themes act, lead, learn, listen, speak, unite and told the history of modern South Africa through Mandela’s experiences as an anti-apartheid activist, political prisoner, and eventual election as the country’s first black president.
Highlighting Mandela’s current activities as a global humanitarian, it invited visitors to join civic and social causes. Visitors responded with handwritten messages.
An environmental film revealed his legacy though animated graphics as well as historical and contemporary footage.
An online exhibition for the Mandela Day website was integrated with a public-relations campaign.
