CN, CNB open Cherokee National History Museum

On August 8th, the Cherokee National History Museum opened in downtown Tahlequah, Oklahoma, in the former Cherokee National Capitol Building. Cherokee Nation’s Business Cultural Tourism senior vice president Molly Javis noted that the Museum “‘is the culmination of years of thoughtful planning and careful execution in effort to provide an engaging experience that allows visitors to immerse themselves in Cherokee history, culture and art.’” Principal Chief Bill Baker emphasized: “‘All the elected officials take an oath of office that we will protect and promote the culture, the heritage and the history of our Cherokee people. And this [Museum] truly represents the modern democracy that we have after the removal.’” RAA provided exhibition planning and design services for the project.
