The Msheireb Museums consist of the restoration and preservation of four historic heritage houses, dating from 1900–1910: Bin Jelmood House, Company House, Radwani House, and Mohammed Bin Jassim House. As museums of Qatari memory, the houses explore the following topics, respectively: the history of the slave trade in the Arab World, the story of the petroleum industry in Qatar, the transformation of the early settlement of Doha, and traditional family life in Qatar.

Situated in the historic heart of Doha, the museums are a critical centerpiece in the first phase of the Msheireb Downtown Doha regeneration project. It aims to revive the old commercial district with a new architectural language that is modern, yet inspired by traditional Qatari heritage and architecture.

Located next to Msheireb’s Cultural Forum, the transformed Heritage Quarter complements and links the new downtown with Souq Waqif, one of the oldest markets in Doha, and other cultural facilities within the Msheireb Downtown project. The Heritage Quarter underscores Msheireb Properties’ commitment to preserve Qatari culture and heritage, in line with Qatar’s National Vision 2030.

The restoration of these houses conserved some of the last remaining traditional and historic buildings in the city center. It cements Msheireb Properties’ belief that, as the nation grows and transforms, Qatar’s culture and traditions will be preserved throughout the development process.
