Responding to the Expo theme of “Future Energy,” this dynamic pavilion asserted the United Arab Emirates’ role at the global forefront of renewable energy innovation and its strategy for future energy. Welcoming hundreds of thousands of visitors over the course of the Expo, the pavilion mirrored the UAE’s energy sector: bright, modern, and future-focused.

Across a series of media-rich spaces, visitors discovered the UAE’s diversification of energy sources, from traditional hydrocarbons to renewable energies. Immersive media environments evoked the warmth of the Emirati people and the vivid urban, desert, and seascapes of the UAE. The pavilion also showcased the UAE’s world-leading initiatives and projects in the energy field, both domestically and internationally.

In a striking environment composed of tessellated panels, RAA developed a three-part experience built around the narrative concept: The UAE’s human energy produces innovations in energy technology that allow us to improve the world. The first section, “Human Energy,” provided audiences with one-on-one encounters with the portraits and voices of Emiratis. The second section, “Innovations in Energy Technology,” consisted of a large-scale wraparound media experience that crosses desert and ocean and spans the microscopic and colossal as it showcases surprising next-generation renewable energy technologies. The third section, “Improving the World,” highlights the UAE’s global consciousness as it provides sustainable energy solutions to developing countries.
