At African-American History Museum, Visitor ‘Dwell Time’ Is Off The Charts

On NPR's All Things Considered, Beverly Morgan-Welch, Associate Director of the National Museum of African American History and Culture, discusses the unpredecented length of the "dwell time" -- the length people stay in a museum once they get in -- of visitors to the museum.

Morgan-Welch states that while the average dwell time for most museums ranges from an hour and forty-give minutes to two hours, the National Museum of African American History and Culture has a dwell time of up to six hours. She calls it "the best, most difficult problem [she has] ever faced in a museum."
