The New Nordic Museum Prepares To Make Waves in Seattle and Beyond

The Nordic Museum’s new 57,000-square-foot home in Ballard, Washington, designed by architectural firm Mithun reflects the rugged geographic beauty of the Nordic countries. A grand Fjord Hall leads visitors to the beginning of the core exhibition experience, designed by RAA, that traces 12,000 years of Nordic and Nordic American history throughout the building. The museum’s collection includes over 77,000 items ranging from early-20th-century textiles to modern and contemporary Nordic furniture.
